A Health Conscious 4th Grader In the Making

For breakfast, Noah is really into cereal lately.  When previously stocked up "lucky charm", which Noah liked earlier because the sweet "charms".  Monday afternoon he picked up a new box after school. I was surprised. The new cereal is "Toasted Rice & Wheat Flakes, with Strawberries".  I asked him why he picked this kind. "Because it is healthy! Only 2 gram of sugar per serving." he chomped down a huge spoonful, "and delicious."

Last night, ZM asked what he had for lunch. Noah thought for a bit, "Salad! Beans, eggs, ranch dressing, and fresh little carrots!"

Both of us had to slowly pick up our jaws from the floor.

"It is really fresh and really healthy!" He continues, "Katie also really liked it. Everyone liked it except William Z.. So i told him it was not healthy if he doesn't like salad."

I laughed, "do you know whoelse doesn't like salad?"
Noah gave me a puzzled look.
ZM pointed at himself, "I don't like salad either. It is rabbit food."
I gave Noah a hand, "I love salad!"
He came over and gave me a kiss. "It is healthy!" He turned to ZM and tried to make another attempt at selling salad at our own dinner table.

I'm so proud!

诺亚这名字

给小人起这个名字完全是很随机的一件事。当时小人都要出生了，我们还没想好取什么名字。当时犹豫着感觉不是特别合适的有亚当。然后我突然想到诺亚，米粥当时听到就眼睛一亮。于是亚当和诺亚就变成我们的两个选择，准备等他出生后，看看这个小人更适合哪一个。
几乎见到他第一面，我们都立刻觉得，诺亚！

后来我们才知道这是个犹太名字。

快进到去年夏天。某个夏令营里一个女孩子问她父亲（华裔）什么是哈努卡节日？那个爹非常有创意的说，你要是碰到叫诺亚的小朋友，问他，一定可以告诉你哈努卡的详情。然后小女孩第一个碰到的诺亚就是我们家小人！一个对犹太文化一问三不知的华裔小朋友。哈哈哈！
