Noah's Holiday

The end of the year is the toughest because Noah's daycare closure. We had to think of places to take him where he could burn off enough energy so he wouldn't turn the house up side down and would be tired enough to sleep during sleep time (nap and night).  He seems to have reached the age where mid-day nap is not always required.  often 10-30 minutes nap in the car would be sufficient. But he seems to need at least one long nap (an hour or more) every other day or every third day.

This year the daycare seems to be closed for longer than usual. Here are the places we have taken him during Noah's holiday. Bolded items are a big hit where he spent 3 hours or more and thoroughly exhausted afterwards. Another theme of this holiday season is his love for his bicycle (training wheel is still on). We went to our neighborhood playground at Balboa park often in the afternoon if our morning activity weren't exhausting enough. He often had a good time biking at Balboa.

12/28/2013 Saturday: Ferry to Sausalito, playground at Sausalito, lunch at Fish, afternoon in Balboa Park

12/29/2013 Sunday: Hyde Street Pier. It is not his first time here, but it is the first time he actually enjoyed visiting every single ship and studied every single detail of it.  We suspect the little boat at the Discovery Museum ignited his love for boat. On the ferry to Sausalito on Saturday, he did a very good job investigating every nook of the ferry, too. Noah also loved the sea lions at the pier and learned to do a very good imitation of the sea-lion noise.

1/1/2014 Wednesday: Sonoma Train Town & Cline Vineyard. Train Town was a pleasant surprise since its website stated it only opens during the weekend in winter months. But it must have considered New Year's Day as a form of weekend, too.  Noah had a blast riding the train.  But we didn't manage the time well, and Train Town came at the end of our trip when Noah was already super tired. There were some tears when we tried to get him to leave.  Cline Vineyard has some exotic pheasants in cages, a train car restaurant, and a couple of donkeys children can feed. Noah loved the donkeys.
