All About Noah: First Swimming Lesson 第一堂游泳课

The teacher and I didn't do a good job easing him into the pool. on top of that he absolutely hated the buoy. But he adapted at the end(after i took out the buoy). and was actually enjoying the pool during the last 10 minutes. All photos courtesy of Yangmama.

Lessons learned summarized by Yangmama (who loves swimming with a passion and still swims 3 times a week at 24 hour fitness till this day!):
1) he breathed in water from his nose almost immediately when we got in the pool. he coughed but was more curious than upset
2) when the teacher tried to put the swim goggle on him, the elastic band snapped and he cried for the first time, but stopped quickly.
3) After all that, mom surrendered him to a total stranger (the teacher)!!
4) worse still when the stranger returned him to mommy, they straddled him into this strange thing called buoy that separated him from mom!!!

By then he has had enough!

it is amazing he recovered from all that at the end of the class!
本来应该九个月开始带他游泳的。错过了我们社区夏天游泳课的注册机会。就拖下来。上周同事给我推荐一个专门给小孩子设置的游泳馆（la petite Baleen Swimming School)，他知道在南湾有分馆。我一查，刚在旧金山开了一家。周末去注册了。今天开始第一堂课。一岁有点大，他知道害怕了。同班的只有两个五个月的小婴孩，已经上了一个月的课了。我们有点心急，小家伙刚下水就呛了一口水。有点怕怕。紧紧抱着妈妈不敢离开一会。接下来老师又给他套了个他非常不喜欢的救生圈。开始大哭大闹。救生圈摘了才好些。抱着他在游泳池里绕弯。他慢慢放松下来。最后几分钟已经开始喜欢了。噼里啪啦拍水玩。。。

酷爱游泳的羊外婆的总结：我们一下水就犯了四个错误 1）让他呛到水 2）老师试图给他带游泳眼镜时不小心勒疼了他 3）妈妈居然在这种情况下把他交给陌生人（老师）抱！4）救生圈把他和妈妈隔开了。所以犯了这四个错误之后他只有大哭大闹，谁也不相信了。
